I was looking on Teachers pay Teachers and I found this artwork called Agamograph. I had an idea to create it by using skip counting and being able to pair it with learning/review the 50 states and capitals. If you are looking to purchase this product, the button below will take you to my Etsy shop. If you are wanting to see more of how to do this activity at home, read the How to section below. If you are wanting to go deeper into learning about Agamographs and where did this artwork start- check out the playlist below. I also have included below videos that I use in my homeschooling for skip counting and states and capitals. Thank you for checking out my website. If you use Classical Conversations, make sure to follow my Etsy shop with new Digital products (math symbol worksheets, tutor bundle, cycle 3 games as well as shirts, stickers, candles, backdrops (for the year) lunch bags and more!

This BUNDLE uses skip counting to create an agamograph for 2 states that we are learning about. I have a chart that has the schedule. This schedule pairs with Classical Conversations but you don't have to use classical conversations to be able to use this bundle. The chart is broken down to 5 states per week for 10 weeks. Since you need an even number, there is an extra image with patriotic designs to complete the agamographs.

Each agamograph comes with a template on page 3 & 4. I would suggest printing these two pages on cardstock for the project to be able to stand up at the end. I have a video below which shows how to make your template and apply your skip counting strips.
You will first cut along the two lines that say cut on this line. You will then fold back and forth like a fan both pages. I sometimes use a ruler to help it fold easily along each line. Then you will glue page 3 to page 4 where it says glue (the rectangles will be at the bottom of the strips.)

When printing page 1 and 2 do not have to be on cardstock. I have found it easier to print these on regular paper. You will cut pages 1 & 2 around the thick rectangle then you will cut along the thin lines into strips. I have put it in a scrambled order so the student has to use their skip counting to line it up. I use the template to lay them on. Do no glue yet. Once they are all lined up you can move onto gluing.

For gluing make sure the student lines up the top line with the template rectangle line to allow the images to be straight. Glue each strip into place. After all the place are in place I fold it all together tight like folding in a fan. Then spread it out and stand it up.

If you are learning classically, we use NAMES which you are able to do with this project. You can name, attend, memorize, express and even storytell. How to include storytelling? Once you have completed your agamograph, there are 1-2 states with that state's facts and information. The student could create a story including the new facts they have learn. This could be an activity that they could use for presentations. Would you like to go a step further? ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

I wanted to include this state report page. I already had the flags, flowers and birds so I thought I would create this page if you want your student to write down each of the facts they can get it from the agamograph or if it is hard to see go to www.50states.com where all the facts can be found. You could have a binder or folder so when the 10 weeks are complete you have learned several facts about each state including capital, date of statehood, nickname, motto, drawing the state ( great to get ready for challenge) and cut and paste the state flower, flag and bird.
I wanted to go ahead and post this product because I know some of you like our community are starting this week. I hope to add a video this week that shows how to but for the time being please refer to the instructions with the product and the photos above.
Here is a video that I have found that explains about Yaacov and his artwork.
This is Homeschool Helper Playlist which includes skip counting up to 15 if you are looking for songs to pair with this activity.
This is what we use to memorize and review all the 50 states and capitals. This is what we will pair with this activity.
